Tournament rules

What each setting under “Tournament Rules” does.

When a loss means you are out

  • “3rd Place Match”: the two losers of the semi-finals play for third place.
  • “Best-of Series”: one match becomes several games. In a best of 3, the first to win 2 games wins the match.
  • “Two-legged ties”: both players meet twice, home and away. The higher total score wins. If it is still equal, a third match decides. You cannot use this together with best-of.
  • “Grand Final Reset” (only in Double Elimination): the player from the losers bracket has already lost once. So this player must win the final twice.

When you play in a table

  • “Double Round Robin”: everyone meets twice, home and away.
  • “Points System”: choose the points for a win, a draw, and a loss. Normally this is 3, 1, and 0.
  • “Tie-Breaker Priority”: choose what decides when players have the same points. Drag the rules into the order you want.
  • “Table zones”: colored areas in the table, for example for promotion. They do not change the result. Set a zone to 0 to turn it off.

Rounds and groups

  • “Number of Rounds” (Swiss System): “Auto” picks a good number for you. The app warns you if players would have to meet again.
  • “Group Size”: 3 to 8 players per group. The app shows you the groups and warns you if they are not the same size.
  • “Advance per Group”: how many players from each group move on to the knockout stage.

Places and times

You can plan where and when matches take place. Open “Tournament Settings” and find “Where and when”. Enter the number of places, such as fields or tables, the match length, the break, and the first match. You do not have to use this.
